Interview with rapper "Lowercase"

Here is something I quickly put together for a local rap artist, Lowercase. It was shot with the Canon T2i/550D down in the Everglades near the Miccosukee tribe. I was with Alex Alvarez, sound man and future director, and Lowercase. The lens I used was the 28mm. You'll notice that at some points of the movie that there tends to be a flicker of darkness between shots. The reason for that is I kept hitting the aperture ring while manually focusing. You'll also notice that the camera a bit shaky. I shot this hand held with out a rig to steady the shot. This interview was totally shot on the fly, wasn't really prepared to do an interview because we ( Alex, Lowercase and me) were scouting location for the music video for Lowercase's song "Rebel Fleet". Sound was straight from the camera , no separated audio device was used.
As for the editing I used Final Cut 7. I usually use Apple Color for my color correction but since this was something on the fly I decided to use Light Kit 1.0 from Noise Industries. I tweaked the colors and effects abit to give the look that you see in the video. The text was done on FCP.
To be honest the interview and final result doesn't live up to my standards because I rushed it. Oh well... You film, cut and you learn.

I've worked a lot these past few weeks. Theres been so many DSLR production happing in South Florida, I am thinking Florida has become "The Independent Film State". Small DSLR budget films, like "Chlorophyll" directed by Barry Jenkins and an 80s Horror Slasher music video by director Lucas Leyva, has inspired me to go out and shoot. I went with my friends, Alex and his cousin Eli, around Miami. We did some film test.I used two lenes, a 28mm and FD 50mm. Tried out the new DSLR rig as well. I tried make a music video out of it, I used the music by Dj SpyRock.

Fotodiox Adapter for the Vivitar 28mm lens

So the other day I received an adapter for 28mm len I bought from eBay. The Vivitar 28mm lens was an affordable lens, I only payed like $30 bucks for it. The adapter, which I found on amazon, was also $30.The look is amazing on video but I havent tried taking any still photos with the lens. I'll let you know when I have a video up.
